Rochester triumph at New York State Chess Championship

RIT student Lev Paciorkowski claimed the 140th Annual New York State Chess Championship over Labor Day weekend after six intense matches in Albany.

Paciorkowski, 18, learned the game at the age of five from his father and started to play competitively at around 12 years old. After his family moved to Rochester, Paciorkowski continued to play tournament chess in the Rochester Interscholastic Chess League at Brighton High School. …
