Charter One Hotels & Resorts acquires Gould Hotel in Seneca Falls

Charter One Hotels & Resorts has announced the acquisition of the historic Gould Hotel in Seneca Falls, NY, which lies in the epicenter of the Finger Lakes region and home to the Women’s Rights National Park.

The restaurant and bar at the Gould Hotel have long been a popular spot for fine food and entertainment in downtown Seneca Falls. “I am most excited to expand our commitment to the vibrant local community of Seneca Falls.”, said Founder & CEO John Balliett. “The Gould’s beautiful Heritage Room is a popular spot for events that can easily accommodate 150 people for dinners and 200 for cocktail receptions.”

The Gould Hotel becomes Charter One’s second hotel in Seneca County where they already own the Quality Inn, home to the recently opened Woody’s Bar & Grille and Killian’s Events.

The historic Gould Hotel was erected in 1919 to replace the Hoag Hotel, which was destroyed by fire in 1918. It received an extensive renovation in 2009 updating all infrastructure and boasting a new industrial chic interior design paying homage to its original financier, Gould Pumps. “Yes, we will be making improvements to the hotel but they will be minor. We will focus on taking an already successful hotel to the next level of guest satisfaction and exceptional service.”, states Balliett.

Charter One is a Hotel Ownership, Consulting and Management Company founded 38 years ago. It has enjoyed a portfolio of over 35 Hotel Assets consisting of branded and independent Full Service, Resort, Limited Service, and Boutique style hotels throughout the Eastern US and has owned and operated hotels in the Finger Lakes region for over 20 years.
