Police: Pennsylvania woman killed in Steuben County crash

A woman from Pennsylvania was killed in a Monday night crash in Steuben County, according to State Police.

Troopers said they were called to a home on County Road 10 in Cameron. The town of Cameron is located approximately 40 miles west of Elmira near the New York-Pennsylvania border.

Police said around 10:20 p.m., 17-year-old Creo Babcock and 19-year-old Tessa Updyke were driving in a car on County Road 10 and failed to make a curve in the road. The car went off the west shoulder of the road, flipped over multiple times and landed in a ravine, throwing Updyke from the car.

Babcock was able to get out of the vehicle and walk to a nearby home to call for help.

Updyke was pronounced dead at the scene.
