DARE Officers are ready to welcome students back to school with key materials for the DARE program

Generations Bank announced today that it has distributed key materials for the DARE program for 1,500 students in the 2018/2019 school year. The move comes as part of the Bank’s 5 year commitment to the D.A.R.E. program which runs through 2020.

On Thursday, August 23th, 2018, DARE Officers from Cayuga, Seneca and Ontario counties joined bank officials and representatives from the New York State DARE Officers Association to pick up materials for the 2018/2019 school year.

Representatives from Auburn Police Department, Geneva Police Department, Seneca Falls Police Department, Seneca County Sheriff’s Department and the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office were present to pick up the materials needed to bring the program to the children in their communities. Elementary students in Auburn, Clifton Springs, Geneva, Phelps, Romulus, Seneca Falls, Southern Cayuga, South Seneca and Waterloo will benefit from the materials. Total contribution for the materials each year is $6,700.

“The D.A.R.E. program makes a direct impact on the lives of our young people. We are proud to support these Officers in their important work.” noted Menzo Case, President & CEO of Generations Bank.

Later this fall, the Bank will again be the sponsor for a regional training seminar for DARE being held by the New York State DARE Officers Association and the New York State Sheriffs’ Association entitled ‘Back to School – What Every LEO and School Professional Should Know About the Newest Trends in Teen Drug Abuse’ presented by nationally recognized speaker Lynn Reimer. The seminar is being held at the Comfort Inn Waterloo/Seneca Falls in October.
