An Ithaca stabbing victim realized he’d been wounded when he awoke Saturday hours after being attacked by four suspects, according to police.
Ithaca police said officers responded to a Cleveland Avenue residence around 7 a.m., and interviewed a victim who said he had been stabbed around 1 a.m. Sunday on the Commons.
The victim was walking in the Home Dairy Alley, police said, when he was confronted by at least four suspects who assaulted him unprovoked.
After running to a friend’s house, the victim fell asleep, only to realize he’d been stabbed once he woke up hours later.
Police said the victim was hospitalized for a “significant laceration” to his chest.
The victim told officers he did not know the suspects — police said the suspects are four black males.
Anyone with information about the assault is asked to call Ithaca police at 607-272-3245.
