Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) is the House Majority Whip and a representative for Louisiana’s 1st congressional district since 2008. Scalise was also in the national spotlight after being shot and gravely wounded during the 2017 GOP congressional baseball shooting.
Scalise was the special guest at a fundraiser for Congressman Tom Reed. There’s been speculation Scalise would run for Speaker of the House but the Congressman stated yesterday that he supports House Majority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy.
