Ontario County Sheriff Phil Povero says a 55-year-old Geneva man was charged with felony reckless endangerment after a standoff that began around 7 pm on Thursday.
Povero says the incident came to a safe conclusion before 10 pm when Raymond Shirley, 55, of Hamilton Street turned himself in to police at the scene.
The sheriff also says that Shirley fired a round from his shotgun into the floor of his apartment, with the bullet ending in the bedroom below during the incident.
He was transported to the Ontario County Jail, and no injuries were reported.
Some members of the apartment building were evacuated while others were sheltered in place, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The Geneva Police Department and Finger Lakes Ambulance assisted at the scene.

Authorities say a three-hour standoff ended peacefully in Geneva after a man, surrendered peacefully.
The entire incident began around 7 pm near the Serenity Manor apartment complex, which is located behind the America’s Best Value Inn.
A suicidal male, who had long-guns, barricaded himself inside an apartment behind the former Chanticleer Motel, according to a deputy with the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
After the report a number of officers from the Sheriff’s Office and Geneva Police Department responded, who say the standoff ended around 10 pm.
Residents at the complex were asked to stay indoors while negotiations took place.
The Finger Lakes Times reports that the incident is being handled as a mental health arrest at this time, and that the man, who was not identified – may not face criminal charges.
