The Auburn Doubledays rallied to tie the score in the eighth inning, but the State College Spikes scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth in a 3-2 victory at Lubrano Park Thursday.
With the Auburn loss and Mahoning Valley’s 3-2 win over West Virginia, the Doubledays slip 1 1/2 games behind the Scrappers in the Pinckney Division standings.
