Deputies: Geneva man scrapped customers’ cars after repair shop closed

Deputies say a Geneva man faces multiple charges after allegedly stealing and scrapping vehicles from his former business, which was located in the Town of Phelps.

Thomas J. Bayer, Sr., 47, of Geneva was arrested after an investigation into the theft of several vehicles from his former business, which had closed.

Deputies say it was an auto repair shop, and arranged for several of his former customers’ cars to be scrapped without their permission – for his profit.

As result he was charged with grand larceny and arraigned.

Following arraignment, Bayer was remanded to the Ontario County Jail to answer the charges at a later date.
