Waterloo school board to set new tax rates Monday

School tax bills will be mailed at the end of the month.

First, however, the school board must vote to adopt a tax levy and tax rates per $1,000 of assessed value. That step is on the agenda for Monday night’s meeting.

The board will be asked to adopt a voter-approved tax levy of $12.5 million and a Waterloo Library and Historical Society tax levy of $206,421.

The proposed final tax rates per $1,000 of assessed value are:

• Towns of Waterloo and Fayette: $18.96.

• Town of Seneca Falls, $20.50.

• Town of Junius: $24.

• Town of Tyre: $27.48.

Library tax rates are proposed to be 31 cents per $1,000 in Waterloo and Fayette, 33.7 cents in Seneca Falls, 39.4 cents in Junius and 45.2 cents in Tyre.
