The New York State Fair opens Wednesday morning, and it’s fast and furious for vendors and concessions people to get their booths built, inspected and stocked.
The man who oversees it all, Troy Waffner, was our guest this morning on Weekend Today in Central New York.
Aside from the ‘get ready’ activity, we talked about the ‘new’ of this year’s edition: the new Expo Center with its LED lighting displays (visible from both 690 and 695, and programmable in specific commemorative colors through the year), as well as the many other new and expanded venues around the pond on the Fair northwest side.
Waffner says the Fair has spent $2.1 million to provide free entertainment at Chevy Court this year.

(When you come visit, stop by CNYCentral’s new location, too, in front of the Science & Industry Building (on the right side of Chevy Court)…we’d love to meet you and pass along a few souvenirs!
