The Auburn Doubledays walked it off — with a walk.
With a tie game and the bases loaded in extra innings, Justin Connell took a fastball high for a four-pitch walk to score Pablo O’Connor. The 4-3 victory salvaged the second half of the doubleheader against the Batavia Muckdogs at Falcon Park Friday night.
The second game was scoreless until the seventh when Michael Donadio hit a two-run homer for the Muckdogs. Jose Sanchez answered with a two RBI single for the Doubledays in the bottom half to send the game to extras.
Batavia pushed across one run, but Jamori Blash’s single tied the score and Connell’s bases-loaded walk ended the game.
