One person was injured after being hit by a vehicle in the Town of Hopewell on Friday, August 17.
Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Walmart and Lowes on Recreation Drive at 4:45 a.m.
Deputies say Jesse Gettings is the victim. He was laying on the ground in the Applebee’s parking lot when they arrived.
A witness told deputies that Gettings was struck by a vehicle.
The witness said a pickup truck ran into Gettings, throwing him several feet.
The witness also told deputies the pickup truck traveled East on Route 5 and 20 after striking Gettings.
Deputies say the suspect is Keir Grosse-Rhode of Brewer, Maine. He was located at the Wendy’s in the Town of Geneva shortly after the incident.
Grosse-Rhode was taken into custody for assault and was arraigned in the Ontario County Jail.
He will appear in the Town of Hopewell court at a later date.
