Geneva PD look into armed robbery

City police are investigating an armed robbery that allegedly occurred last week at a house on East North Street.

“This does not appear to be a random act, and we are still looking into it,” Geneva Police Department Lt. Matt Valenti said Tuesday.

Valenti said the incident happened about 12:15 a.m. Aug. 10. A masked man entered the house and ordered the occupants, a male and a female, to sit. One of the occupants told police the suspect had a small, silver handgun. The suspect took the woman’s purse and some “illegal substances,” Valenti said.

People who believe they may have information can call the Geneva PD’s general line at (315) 781-0096 or email [email protected].
