After intense, heavy rainfall on Tuesday, Yates County Sheriff Ron Spike issued the following statement regarding the outflow, and boating safety:
“With the heavy rains today many creeks and gulley’s that empty into Seneca Lake, especially adjacent (East) to the towns of Starkey and Milo have washed assorted debris into the lakes and they can be a floating hazard to navigation. Boaters are cautioned to be observant of floating large trees, limbs, logs, stumps, and misc. debris in the water.”
