Senator Helming to honor Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputy who saved a life

Senator Pam Helming today announced that she will honor Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputy Thomas Munzert by presenting him with the New York State Senate Liberty Medal during the opening ceremony of the 163rd Wayne County Fair on Monday, August 13th at 1PM. Deputy Munzert is credited with saving the life of a woman whose vehicle plunged into a pond and overturned following a crash on Bloom Road in Arcadia on Saturday, July 15th, 2017. Due to Deputy Munzert’s courageous, selfless actions, the victim of the car crash avoided series injuries.

The Liberty Medal is awarded to individuals who have merited special commendation for exceptional, heroic, or humanitarian acts on behalf of their fellow New Yorkers, and it is the highest honor bestowed upon an individual by the New York State Senate.
