Girl Scouts, alums invited to March in Women’s Day Parade at New York State Fair August 29th

Calling all Girl Scouts, alums, troops, leaders, volunteers and families! Come march with hundreds of your sisters and Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways (GSNYPENN), the regional Girl Scout Council, in the Women’s Day Parade at the Great New York State Fair on Wednesday, August 29th. It doesn’t matter what Council you belong to, or when you participated in the Girl Scout program. Grab your Girl Scout gear and show your spirit for the Movement!

All parade participants must arrive at the fairgrounds (581 State Fair Blvd., Syracuse, N.Y.) by 5:30PM. The parade begins at 6PM and will conclude between 6:30PM and 7PM. Participants will line up at the Center of Progress near the front entrance gate. To show solidarity and spirit, all girls who are marching must wear their official Girl Scout uniform. Adults are encouraged to wear Girl Scout-branded apparel. Girls who march will receive a state fair participation patch.

GSNYPENN will also have a STEAM booth in the Science & Industry Building during the run of the fair. Fairgoers are invited to stop by to learn more about the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and take part in some awesome hands-on activities. Have a Girl Scout troop or service unit that would like to help at the booth? Troops and volunteers from any Girl Scout Council can assist. GSNYPENN will provide materials and training. Help show everyone why Girl Scouts is the all-girl, girl-led expert—with more than 100 years of experience building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place!

Register to march in the Women’s Day Parade and sign-up to assist at the STEAM booth by visiting gsnypenn.org/nysfair. Questions about marching in the parade can be directed to Community Recruitment Manager Jillian Kerekes at [email protected] or 315.698.9400 x2988.
