Two Democratic candidates in Cayuga County-area state Legislature races won the support of New York's powerful teachers union.
Keith Batman, a Cayuga County legislator challenging Assemblyman Gary Finch, and John Mannion, a teacher vying for the 50th Senate District seat, have been endorsed by New York State United Teachers, a union with more than 600,000 members.
