Auburn woman charged with assault after stabbing, victim sent to Upstate Hospital

Police in Auburn are investigating a stabbing, which happened on Monday.

Officers were following-up on a domestic incident that happened early-Monday, when the 24-year-old victim reported that he had been stabbed.

Officers responded to 44 Lincoln Street and located a man with a laceration on his head. He was transported to Upstate University Hospital for treatment.

Police located the suspect, and charged her after a search warrant was obtained.



Sheila L. Marks, 24, was charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. She is being held at Auburn Police Department pending arraignment in Auburn City Court.

The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries and has been released from the hospital, according to police.
