Syracuse football took to the field for the first time since the spring, kicking off preseason camp with a nearly three-hour workout in shorts and helmets Thursday on the Schwartzwalder and Katz Practice Fields.
Thursday marked the first of 19 camp practice sessions before the team moves into preparation mode for the season opener at Western Michigan on Friday, Aug. 31.
While senior quarterback Eric Dungey practiced some in the spring, the Lake Oswego, Ore. product was full-go for the first time since injuring his foot last fall against Florida State, an ailment that sidelined him for the final three games of 2017.
“Today was really the first day I was at full speed out here, so it felt really good,” Dungey said. “I’m glad to be back here with the guys. The linemen are looking really good, so I’m excited for the season to start up.” Read More
