Wide receiver Zay Jones continues to be somewhat invisible at Bills training camp, prolonging an absence that stretches back to the final gun of Buffalo’s AFC wild-card playoff loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in January.
Jones, the 2017 second-round pick, has not taken a single practice rep since before the Jacksonville game as he underwent labrum and knee surgery in the offseason. It is the knee injury, which he suffered on the March night he was arrested in Los Angeles, is what is holding him back now, and there’s still no set timetable on when he might be able to get back to work.
“It hasn’t changed from the way we started off camp,” coach Sean McDermott said Tuesday morning before the Bills hit the field that was closed to the general public and was open only to corporate guests and the media. “You saw him out there running the other day; we continue to move in the right direction at this point.”
