Thrifty Shopper opens new location in Seneca Falls

Whether you’re looking for your next bargain, hoping to give back to the community or seeking to contribute less waste to landfills — Rescue Mission Alliance’s Thrifty Shopper stores have a solution.

Another community has welcomed the 16th Thrifty Shopper store, with a grand opening in Seneca Falls on Saturday, which brought in more than 500 people within the first 1.5 hours of opening, Rescue Mission Alliance’s Marketing Strategist Erin Wisneski said.

The first 500 grand opening visitors to enter the store after the ribbon-cutting ceremony received Thrifty Shopper swag, including reusable bags with goodies such as T shirts, gift cards, candy bars and water bottles.

The Seneca Falls store location was chosen based upon a variety of factors, including demographics, requests via social media, as well as data from Thrifty Shopper Rewards Member cards which let the stores know where their shoppers are coming from, RMA’s Sales Manager Brent Piech explained.

“There (was) definitely some good excitement,” Piech said of customers awaiting the grand opening. For about two weeks prior to the opening, he added, customers as well as people hoping to donate goods kept stopping by to see if the store was open yet.
