When Nancy Taylor motors around the city, it’s not always to run errands.
“I am always driving around town and getting ideas for our calendar picture,” said the chairperson of the Lake to Lake Women’s Community-Birthday Calendar.
This year’s 55th annual calendar — it’s Lake to Lake Women’s biggest annual fundraiser — will feature the remade entrance to the Finger Lakes Community College Geneva Campus Center. Neil Sjoblom, who has collaborated on the organization’s calendar in the past, provided the art for the 2019 cover.
The FLCC campus has a special place in Taylor’s heart: She graduated from Geneva High School when it used to occupy the property.
“I thought, we haven’t really done anything on education, and also I know there was a lot of controversy about the old Geneva High School and the original entryway,” Taylor said. “[FLCC] kept some of the makings of the original high school entryway.”
Taylor said she contacted John Cromartie, director of the Geneva Campus Center, with her idea.
