Sheriff: Hit-and-run driver at Syracuse-area concert abandoned car in Cayuga County

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the occupants of a dark-colored Honda Civic that struck and seriously injured a pedestrian near Syracuse Sunday night and was later found abandoned in Cayuga County.

Around 11 p.m. Sunday night, deputies responded to a reported hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in the F section of the Orange parking lot at the St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater, a sheriff’s office press release stated.

The victim, a 31-year-old male, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Upstate University Hospital, where he was listed Thursday in stable condition, the release said.

The vehicle, which left the area before first responders arrived, was described by witnesses as a dark-colored sedan with front driver side damage, the release said. The car was later found abandoned in Cayuga County.
