An Auburn man is facing criminal charges for allegedly assaulting a woman in a domestic dispute earlier this month, according to the Auburn Police Department.
Auburn Deputy Police Chief Roger Anthony said Gary A. Hamm, 29, of 290 Grant Ave., Apt. 6., was picked up on a warrant July 24 and charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.
Hamn was in the woman's apartment on Schwartz Drive on July 16 after previously being told to not be there by the victim, Anthony said, and struck the victim and put a pillow over her face. The victim broke free and tried to use her phone to call 911 but Hamm tried to take the phone from her, Anthony said. The victim called the police shortly after Hamm left, Anthony said.
