This weekend will be the last of July, which means the Fifty-Mile-Long Garage Sale will take over Route 90 from Montezuma to Homer.
The sale officially takes place at participating houses, businesses and other organizations along the road from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29, though sales have been known to take place before and after those times, as well as the Friday prior. It is the 31st year of the sale.
The sale was started by the Route 90 Association in 1987. Co-founder Connie Reilley told The Citizen that the sale brings in thousands of shoppers from the region.
