Deputies: Marion woman falls asleep at the wheel in accident

The Wayne County Sheriff’s investigated a single vehicle personal injury collision on Marion East Williamson Road in the Town of Marion, which sent one person to the hospital with minor injuries.

Lisa M. Sanfilipo, 54, of Marion was traveling north on Marion East Williamson Road when she reportedly fell asleep at the wheel.

Deputies say Sanfilipo’s vehicle crossed the southbound lane of traffic and left the roadway where it struck a fire hydrant causing damage.

She was transported by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by members of the Marion Volunteer Fire Department and Sodus Town Ambulance.
