Deputies say a welfare fraud investigation resulted int he arrest of a 75-year-old Galen resident on Tuesday.
Around 8:55 am Jerry L. Thorn, 75, was charged with misuse of food stamps, petit larceny, and identity theft after using a deceased individual’s EBT card at Tops Market in Lyons and Glenwood Foods in Seneca Falls.
As result, Thorn obtained $115.02 worth of SNAP benefits that he was not entitled to receive.
Deputies say Thorn was released on appearance tickets and will answer the charges at a later date.
