Two airlifted to different hospitals after head-on crash in Wolcott; four seriously injured

Deputies say the investigation of a personal injury motor vehicle accident that occurred on Ridge Road in the Town of Wolcott is underway.

On Saturday at about 6:28 pm a vehicle, operated by Liborio McCauley Jr., 23, of Walworth and his passenger Edward Leno, 41 of Savannah were traveling east on Ridge Road in the Town of Wolcott.

Deputies say McCauley passed another vehicle traveling east on a double solid line and struck another vehicle head-on in the westbound lane. M

Both were injured in the crash. Deputies say McCauley was transported by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital and Leno was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The westbound vehicle was being operated by Jonathan Sutton, 50, of Rochester and his passenger was Francis Alini, 50, were seriously injured as well.

Sutton was transported by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital and Alini was transported by LifeNet to Upstate Medical University Hospital, according to police.

The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff’s Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on-scene by Wayne County Advanced Life Support, Sodus Town Ambulance Advanced Life Support, Lake Shore Ambulance, Eastern Wayne Ambulance, Fairhaven Ambulance, Mercy Flight, LifeNet, Alton Fire Department, North Rose Fire Department and Wolcott Fire Department.

Investigation into the incident continues.
