Canandaigua man fell asleep at wheel, crashed car on Rt. 414 in Seneca Falls

On Sunday at approximately 7:16 am the Seneca Falls Police Department responded to a one-car personal injury motor vehicle accident on Route 414 in Seneca Falls.

The driver, identified as Darryl Gill, 63, of Canandaigua reportedly fell asleep at the wheel while heading south on Route 414.

Police say the vehicle drifted across the roadway and into a field, striking a driveway pole belonging to a local business and a NYSEG light pole.



The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.

A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Lullie Wethington, 53, of Geneva complained of head pain from striking her head against the windshield and was transported by ambulance for treatment.

Gill was uninjured.

Seneca Falls Police were assisted at the scene by North Seneca Ambulance, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, NYSEG and the Seneca Falls Fire Department.
