Police are investigating a crash involving a commercial vehicle and pedestrian on State Route 13 in the City of Ithaca.
The accident happened around 11:28 pm near Willow Avenue, according to the Ithaca Police Department. They say a pedestrian, who was not identified, was struck by the commercial vehicle – and suffered a serious head injury.
That person was airlifted to a regional trauma center.
The New York State Police Commercial Vehicle Crash Reconstruction Unit has responded to the scene.
Police say Route 13 was reduced to one-lane, and would return to normal traffic flow at some point during the morning hours.
