A Cayuga County legislative committee tentatively approved a plan for a new county government website Tuesday after earlier versions of the plan were previously defeated in several other committees.
The county’s Ways and Means Committee voted 4-2, with one absence, in favor of a resolution to contract with CivicPlus for a new municipal website that would add features for public use and provide an increase in security.
A similar resolution was first approved at May’s Government Operations Committee, before failing in that month’s Ways and Means meeting. At the July Government Operations Committee, the reintroduced resolution failed amidst concerns about the budgeting process and the role of the county administrator in identifying government priorities.
