Williamson man had BAC twice the legal limit during Ontario traffic stop

Deputies say a Williamson man was arrested on multiple charges after a traffic stop in the Town of Ontario on Friday around 11:56 pm.

Daniel R. Vanatta, 53, of Williamson was stopped for a vehicle and traffic violation – and upon further investigation it was determined that he was in an intoxicated condition.



Patrol also located marijuana in the vehicle, according to a press release from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say Vanatta had a BAC of 0.17 percent and was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, as well as driving while intoxicated.

He was released on appearance tickets and will answer the charges at a later date.
