Should Seneca County provide financial support to the organizers of the 31st annual Wine Country Circuit Dog Show at Sampson State Park?
That question was raised at Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting.
Romulus Supervisor David Kaiser broached the subject, calling the American Kennel Club dog show a “big event and an important attraction” for the county to retain. Kaiser noted that other venues are interested in the event, although he did not provide specific examples.
The Wine Country Circuit Dog Show is actually four shows in one, as four independent kennel clubs hold their own shows on consecutive days in September. The dogs are judged on conformation, obedience and agility. The show attracts 3,000 to 5,000 dogs.
There is no admission charge for spectators.
