Two Hammondsport businesses were damaged overnight after a vehicle crashed into them.
In a posting to social media, asking for followers to refer good contractors – Erin Maloney said no one was at Maloney’s Pub when a driver did visible damage to the porch of the business on Pulteney Street in Hammondsport.
“No one outside was hurt, I don’t know the condition of the driver, but a lot of damage was done to the porch,” Maloney said in the posting. “We haven’t been down to assess the situation yet to see if there is any structural damage, but we’ll be down soon.”
The post continued, “To get cleaned up, back open, and the porch fixed, send us some suggestions for contactors that will be able to get to this right away- we know this is everyone’s busy season, so fingers crossed that we’ll get it fixed up ASAP!”
Maloney said after evaluating the situation during the morning hours, that the business would reopen at 3 pm as planned. “Support jacks are in place and we’re grateful that no one was hurt!” she said around 12:30 pm on Tuesday.
The post indicates that several trees and tables were also knocked down at the Village Tavern during the same incident.
