Sandroni wins David Baker Youth Sports volunteer award

Steve Sandroni has been awarded the David Baker Youth Sports Volunteer of the Year Award by the Seneca Falls Parks & Recreation Department.

Sandroni has been involved with Seneca Falls recreation activities since 2000, volunteering his time coaching kickball, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls lacrosse, Little League tee ball and Little League baseball.

“Steve has had the greatest impact as Seneca Falls youth lacrosse program coordinator, a role he held from 2010 through 2017,” said Jim Spina, Parks & Recreation commissioner.

Sandroni also has served as a coach at Mynderse Academy, helping to lead the boys and girls lacrosse programs at the modified, JV and varsity levels.

“Steve was tasked with coordinating the entire youth lacrosse program, including player registration, equipment inventory, coach and referee recruitment, game schedules, field scheduling for practices and games and representation at league meetings,” Spina said.
