The Auburn Enlarged City School District will be adding several interior security cameras to be placed throughout the district.
At a meeting Tuesday, the district's board of education approved an agreement with Day Automation Systems, which would install the equipment. District Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo said before the meeting that school districts can annually receive state aid for security measures such as doors and cameras. The district plans to add 14 cameras for up to $28,000, Pirozzolo said.
The district will be reimbursed by the state for up to 86 percent on the cameras. The remaining money will come out of the district's general fund, Pirozzolo said, less than $5,000.
