A former Weedsport Elementary School principal is coming back to the role.
Timothy Cowin Jr., who led the school for eight years until he left in 2015, will serve again starting on Aug. 7. His appointment was announced Monday, according to a press release. Cowin is replacing Melinda Ervay, who will become the district's new director of curriculum, instruction and assessment.
The director job was created as a part of the district's 2018-2019 budget. District superintendent Shaun O'Connor said in the press release he is happy about bringing Cowin back.
“I’m excited to have him return to the Weedsport family and bring a wealth of experience as a building leader,” O’Connor said. “He is a well-respected educator and I think it’s great that our community is already familiar with him.”
