First responders say one person was airlifted from the scene of a violent accident on Route 13 in Newfield.
The crash occurred near Ithaca Recreation Sports Inc. and traffic was closed in both directions.
The accident involved two cars and a tractor-trailer. The rig spilled between 100 and 150 gallons of fuel, according to reports from the scene.
The Newfield Fire Department, state police, the state Department of Transportation and the Department of Environmental Conservation were called to the accident.
The person airlifted from the scene was transported to Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital.
