Mark Benjamin, Seneca Meadows Relations Director, presented the Ford Memorial Library with a $1,300
grant to fund the Rick Riordan inspired Camp Half-Blood. Youth ages 8 and up will be immersed in
mythology from diverse cultures while enjoying hands-on activities, including catapult launching, and
games with library staff. This is a must-attend camp for all Percy Jackson fans. Students may register for
one of two camp sessions: Fridays, July 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th from 12:30PM-2:30PM or August 6th – 19th, 10AM – 1PM. Registration is free, space is limited.
The Ford Library “Libraries Rock” Summer Reading Program will be held Wednesdays, 9:30AM – 11AM, at the Ovid Fire Hall on June 27th, July 11th, 18th & 25th. All ages can enjoy hands-on science activities, art, games and a summer reading challenge. No registration required. Children can pick up a reading log at the library and read to earn a free ice cream cone at Cayuga Creamery.
Comic Creation Camp returns July 30th – August 3rd, 10AM – 1PM. Students will learn how to write and illustrate their own comic and produce an anthology at the end of the week. Class fee is $15, scholarships are available. Registration is required. Camp is sponsored by the Finger Lakes Community Arts Grant and the Delavan Foundation. Make a Splash Teen Week will take place August 13th – 18th, 10AM – 1PM. Ages 12 and up will enjoy a wide-range of activities related to art, science, technology and epic super squirter battles. Registration is free, space is limited.
