A Lansing man is in custody after a violent, physical attack on Sunday, according to authorities.
Daniel I. Truesdale, 47, was charged with first-degree assault after reportedly attacking a woman with the machete. Police say Truesdale caused “serious physical injuries” to the female victim’s face.
Due to the severity of the attack, the charge was upgraded to felony, first-degree status.
The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office was called to a reported assault on Ridge Road around 9:15 p.m., and as result of the attack – the victim suffered serious injuries to her nose, lips and jaw.
Truesdale is in custody at the Tompkins County Jail. His bail was set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 secured bond.
