Victor boys lacrosse team rolls in state semifinals

There was a brief moment — and yes, it was brief, as in about 46 seconds in length — when the folks from East Syracuse-Minoa may have entertained the possibility that their Spartans could give powerhouse Victor a game Wednesday afternoon.

Victor had raced out to a 6-0 lead through one quarter, but ES-M got off the deck and scored two quick goals early in the second quarter and you thought, well, this is the New York State Class B boys’ lacrosse semifinals, so maybe, just maybe, the Spartans could get back into it.

Uh, no. The Blue Devils scored the last five goals of the half, four coming in a dizzying span of 1:36, and cruised to a ridiculously easy 18-3 victory at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.
