Plea deal being reviewed for Clyde doctor accused of child pornography

A plea deal for the Clyde doctor accused of sharing child pornography and taking photos of his child patients is being reviewed by federal attorneys.

Federal court paperwork filed regarding proceedings held on May 31 for David Blasczak was sealed from public view.

However, a brief summary of the status conference with Judge Jonathan Feldman, U.S. Attorney Kyle Rossi, and defense attorney Lawrence Kasperek described the details of the meeting.

A proposed plea agreement has been put forward and both the prosecution and defense are working to resolve the case without a trial. Several financial issues are also being worked out; the nature of those issues was not available in the filed paperwork.

Blasczak is charged with receiving and possessing child pornography. He practiced medicine at the Clyde Family Health Center through Finger Lakes Health.
