Annual Steuben County Color Walk

The third annual “Steuben County Color Walk…to prevent child abuse” is set for June 16th and
sponsored by Prevent Child Abuse Steuben.

Registration for the family-friendly color walk is set for 9AM, June 16th, in Pulteney Square, followed by a
mile-long course beginning at 10:15AM The cost of registration is $3 per participant. Children under 5 are
free.

The event is intended to be a very visible reminder county residents can all do something to prevent child
abuse, with volunteers located on the course where they will toss a non-toxic colored paint powder at the
walkers.

Organizers recommend participants wear light-colored clothes for the most colorful effect. Eye and nose
protection for participants is recommended and available for $1. T-shirts are available for $5.

In addition to the county Youth Bureau and the Prevent Child Abuse Steuben task force, event sponsors
include Nelson Service Center, Keuka Insurance Group, Inc. and the Corning Police Benevolent
Association.
