Next downtown Auburn mural to be painted on brewery

Art for Auburn has announced its next downtown project.

The public art collective will create a painted mural depicting hops and wheat on the William Street wall of The Good Shepherds Brewing Co. later this month.

Kendall Doub, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, designed the mural. A professional artist and graphic designer, Doub has worked on packaging, logo and branding for John Deere, Journeys and more. He was brought aboard the Good Shepherds project by Art for Auburn Project Manager Jesse Kline.

Volunteers are sought to help paint the Hops Splash Community Mural from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 23 and 24 (unless there are long periods of heavy rain). Volunteers can come for any length of time, and are encouraged to wear work clothing. No prior experience is necessary, and all materials and instruction will be provided. Sheet pizzas will be provided by Angelo’s.
