Deputies say an Auburn man was charged with speeding and driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop on State Route 5 in Tyre early-Wednesday morning.
Around 1 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop after James W. Fedyshyn, 55, of Auburn was observed traveling 80 mph in a 55 mph zone. Upon further investigation it was determined that Fedyshyn was driving while intoxicated.
He was charged with speed over 55 mph, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated, and driving with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more.
He was released on appearance tickets and will answer the charges at a later date.
