Lindsay May’s attempt at a fourth state championship came up just short.
The Auburn senior struggled with her short game but finished with a 77 at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale Sunday. Combined with her 73 on Saturday, her two-day total of 150 earned her sixth place in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association girls golf tournament.
“I didn’t play as well as I wanted to today,” May said. “I didn’t putt well. I hit the ball well, and that’s a positive thing, but overall this tournament was another learning experience.”
