There haven’t been too many afternoons at St. John Fisher College where Penn Yan’s dynastic boys’ lacrosse team has been pushed to the limit in a Section V championship game, be it in the Class C or D tournament.
But on a steamy and sunny Wednesday on the Growney Stadium turf that they have owned for years, the Mustangs got all they could have wanted from Aquinas Institute before finally prevailing 8-6 in the D title game.
