Police were searching for a missing person in Sodus after an overnight boating accident.
State Police say a boat struck a breakwall around 1 a.m. on Tuesday. The operator of the boat, identified as Cory Donk, 23, was charged with Boating While Intoxicated and Vessel Operator Failing to Report an Accident.
Police say the passenger, identified as 50-year-old Thomas Gorsky was found later this morning on an island near the accident scene. He made himself visible for police to find him, according to police. The passenger isn’t facing any charges, and according to authorities – Gorsky may have passed out after getting on land.
The passenger was sent to Strong Memorial Hospital as a precaution.
