Police say two people were charged with endangering the welfare of a child after a young child was left unattended in a parking lot at Penn Yan Academy last week.
Penn Yan Police say an investigation determined that a two-year-old boy had wandered from his residence on Court Street and ended up at the school.
His parents – identified as Daniel DuPlesais and Mallory McKown were asleep when the child wandered off, according to police.
They were both ticketed for endangering the welfare of a child.
The charges will be answered at a later date.
